I have always had a passion for travel. In fact, my friends gave me the nickname of “Gypsy” because of my eagerness for taking trips and exploring new areas. Over the past few years my “traveling habit” has expanded quite a bit and my son said I needed to start a blog. I finally relented, so here I am!
A Bit About Me
After my second retirement (long story), I began focusing more on travel and helping my friends with the details. I planned cruises, European tours, motorcycle adventures, and trips all across the United States. After planning a trip for some friends, Kathy of World Travels with Kathy reached out to me to see if I was interested in becoming a travel agent. I didn’t really have any plans to start another career but I did love traveling, so I thought I’d give it a shot and “stick my toe in the water”.
When I started working with Kathy, I wasn’t 100% sure that being a travel agent was for me. I’m happy to say I was wrong. Now that I am working in the travel industry I am able to access more and varied sources to do more in-depth trips and tours. For example, I’ve traveled to Thailand, South Africa, Tahiti and the Society Islands, New Zealand, Australia, and I’m leaving shortly for the Scandinavian countries and the Baltic Seas.
Suffice it to say that my little hobby has turned into another full-time job. LOL! Granted, it’s a job I love because it feeds my passion for exploring the world, learning about different cultures and meeting so many wonderful people.
Happy To Help
If you have any travel inklings that you are thinking about, keep me in mind because I can certainly come up with some fascinating travel ideas and destinations. It’s important to use a travel agent who actually travels and can give you good advice and put you in reliable, beautiful surroundings. As I often say, “there aren’t any refunds on a bad vacation”.
New career, new adventures and a new blog. Exciting times for sure. I’m hope you’ll join me on this journey and follow along.
